Career Assessments

As a career counselor, I support experienced professionals in their professional reorientation, as well as young professionals making their first career decisions. I use a structured approach. You can see the key elements in the illustration on the left. We also take time to work on your individual concerns.

By the way, it does not always have to be the big professional reorientation. My process also supports taking inventory and can help you to appreciate where you stand, but also what you might want to change.

The schedule is designed in such a way that the appointments can be flexibly integrated into your everyday life. We meet for six appointments of 60-90 minutes each, typically every or every other week.  If you wish, you can also make additional appointments for 139 USD per 60 minutes for further support.

You work on the assessments from home between appointments. I use only professionally developed and scientifically validated assessments, including:

Interests

Interest tests not only help to identify potential new career fields, a good inventory also helps to identify suitable niches within one's own career field and thus find opportunities for greater professional satisfaction. In particular, the combination of interests and their interaction with other aspects plays a major role.

Personality

Put simple, one can say that personality tests give information about HOW someone likes to work. I work with the highly established Big Five model. The MBTI, on the other hand, has some methodological issues, but can also be helpful. If you already have MBTI results, feel free to bring them and we can them into account.

Values

Values are often neglected when choosing a career, but after several years of work experience it is often the unfulfilled values that lead to dissatisfaction.  How important is reputation to you? Or independence?

cognitive profile

  • Abstract-logical reasoning

  • Numerical reasoning

  • Verbal reasoning

  • Spatial-figural reasoning

The more cognitive potential you have in those areas, the better you can perform related tasks and the easier they will be for you. This is especially relevant for people just starting out in their careers, but can also be enlightening for people with work experience, e.g. if you have the impression that you don't really fit into your own profession, or if you want to strike out in a completely new direction.

You get a profile of your own cognitive strengths and weaknesses, also compared to the population average. An IQ is not determined.

Other assessments, depending on your situation

For example psychological strain and burnout symptoms, leaderhsip, work engagement. If you have another instrument in mind, feel free to contact me.

Counseling and Coaching

This is where it all comes together. It is important to combine the different results, because each one alone is only a single facet.

It is especially important to me that you gain insights that you can use in the long term. That's why I don't just leave you with a career list, but with new insights about yourself. You will be able to fall back on these again and again over the course of many years, during which occupations will continue to change.
